Property Description

Situated in south London in the Borough of Lambeth, is Priory Mews; a cul-de-sac off Priory Grove. The Mews contains a few properties used for residential and commercial purposes.

The Mews is not part of a Conservation Area. A high explosive bomb fell onto the Mews in World War II, now it remains as an isolated row of buildings, the adjacent ones being demolished in the war.

The three storey properties have plain brickwork facades and parapet, end gable and pitched roof styles, surrounded by a tarmacadam road surface with no parking permitted.

Everchanging Nature

The original purpose of the Mews was to provide stable/ coach house accommodation for the main houses on the surrounding streets but nowadays they are vacant, possibly turned into access to the park behind the properties.

Before and since 2003 there have been many planning applications made for alterations to the properties within the Mews, the most notable being; changes to the fenestration and single storey ground floor extensions.
