Property Description

Palace Gardens Mews is a private, cobbled cul-de-sac off Kensington Palace Gardens, commonly known as ‘Millionaires Row’ in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The Mews are for the most part linear, following the blocks of terraced development on the main road, Palace Gardens Terrace. There are 13 properties in the Mews, and it runs approximately North to South. When the London Poverty Maps were published, the area was recorded as being fairly comfortable with good earnings.

Palace Gardens Mews is part of the Kensington Palace Conservation Area.

The Mews is predominantly one-sided. Not much else is known about the Mews as it is in a very prestigious area with many embassies and lots of security. The Mews itself is private.

Everchanging Nature

Palace Gardens Mews is a fantastic example of an original/ surviving Mews. The original purpose of the Mews was to provide stable/ coach house accommodation for the larger houses on Kensington Palace Gardens. Now, the Mews properties are used for residential purposes, with a few planning applications being made for alterations to the properties before, and since 2003; mainly alterations to the front elevations and external refurbishments. Conservation Area controls apply to any development in the Mews.
