Property Description
Situated to the west of London in Hammersmith and Fulham, is Grove Mews; a part-cobbled one-way through road off Hammersmith Grove. The Mews contains 23 properties used for residential purposes.
The Mews is not part of a Conservation Area. When the London Poverty Maps were first published, the area was deemed to have a mixture of comfortable living conditions with poorer household earnings for the time.
Grove Mews is made up of two storey, mixed material buildings with flat and pitched roof styles, surrounded by a cobbled and tarmacadam road surface.
Everchanging Nature
The original purpose of the Mews was to provide stable/ coach house accommodation for the main houses on the surrounding streets but nowadays the properties are used for residential purposes.
There have been a number of planning applications made for alterations to the properties within the Mews both before and since 2003, most notably additional floors at roof level and alterations to the fenestration.
