Situated in East London in the Borough of Tower Hamlets, is Tredegar Mews; a gated and paved cul-de-sac approached through its own arch on Tredegar Terrace. The Mews contains 4 properties used for residential and commercial purposes. It is located on the site of an original Mews but has been re-developed to a degree that it no longer contains any surviving Mews properties.

The Mews is part of the Tredegar Square Conservation Area. A high explosive bomb fell onto Coborn Road, north-west of the Mews in World War II and when the London Poverty Maps were originally published, the area was deemed to have very comfortable living conditions and higher than average household earnings for the time.

The three storey properties have plain brickwork facades and mansard roof styles, surrounded by a paved road surface with intact garages and restricted parking. No access is granted to the general public.

Everchanging Nature 

The original purpose of the Mews was to provide stable/ coach house accommodation for the main houses on the surrounding streets and nowadays they are predominantly used for residential purposes, with a small amount of commercial activity also taking place.

Before and since 2003 there have been a few planning applications made for alterations to the Mews, the most notable being; alterations to the trees surrounding the properties.
