January 2017 – Newman Passage
New Year, New Me… as so often heard at the beginning of January. Whether or not this is true for you, why not make a resolution to explore more of London this year? Take a look around the different Mews on our website and visit somewhere new – take a photo and share it with us on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #everchangingmews.
Our Mews of the Month for January is Newman Passage, a cobbled cul-de-sac with a pedestrian through road, approached through an entrance under a building on Newman Street in Westminster. The Mews contains 10 properties that are used for commercial purposes.
The three storey (and more) properties have a mixture of painted brickwork and rendered facades, with roofs hidden behind parapet walls. There are no garages present and the floor surface is cobbled. Parking is restricted. ‘Scarlet Thread’, the 1951 drama was partly filmed in Newman Passage.
