Property Description

Situated to the west of London in Hammersmith and Fulham is Draycott Mews; a private, redeveloped and gated cul-de-sac off New King’s Road. The Mews contains 2 properties used for commercial and residential purposes.

Draycott-Mews

The Mews is not part of a Conservation Area. A few high explosive bombs fell onto Ashington Road in World War II, off New King’s Road not far from the Mews and when the London Poverty Maps were first published, the area was deemed to have a mixture of comfortable and poorer living conditions.

Draycott Mews is made up of two storey, plain brickwork buildings with intact garages surrounded by a tarmacadam road surface.

Everchanging Nature

The original purpose of the Mews was to provide stable/ coach house accommodation for the main houses on New King’s Road but nowadays the properties are used for residential purposes, though some commercial activity still takes place.

There have been a number of planning applications made for alterations to the properties within the Mews both before and since 2003; a redevelopment of the properties took place in 1991 including an erection of a two storey extension for office and restaurant usage.
