Property Description

Situated within inner London in the Borough of Islington, is Tremlett Mews; a gated cul-de-sac off Tremlett Grove. The Mews contains very few properties used for undetermined purposes. It is located on the site of an original Mews but has been re-developed to a degree that it no longer contains any surviving Mews properties.

Tremlett-Mews

The Mews is part of the St John’s Grove Conservation Area. When the London Poverty Maps were published, the area was deemed to have a mixture of comfortable and poorer living conditions.

The two storey properties have plain brickwork facades and pitched roof styles, surrounded by a cobbled road surface with raised party walls.

Everchanging Nature

The original purpose of the Mews was to provide stable/ coach house accommodation for the main houses on the surrounding streets but nowadays it is mainly being used as a dumping ground and is in poor condition. In 2014, planning permission was granted for the renovation of the entire Mews after it had been fire damaged in the past.
